Ndamakong Suh can’t stop using his feet as weapons on the football field

The Miami Dolphins and New York Jets took the NFL to London in Week 4 and the Jets were running all over the Dolphins. The Miami defense didn’t have an answer for Chris Ivory, Brandon Marshall, or even Ryan Fitzpatrick scrambling. Dolphins defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh seemed to try in stop at least Fitzpatrick in a totally inconceivable manner.

Fitzpatrick was scrambling toward the right sideline with Suh in pursuit when the Jets quarterback tried to dive for the first down. After he went down, Suh kept going towards him and appears to kick the quarterback in the head, taking off Fitzpatrick’s helmet:

It’s always trick trying to assume intent in situations like this, but Suh definitely kicks his leg out before bringing it to the point of contact on Fitzpatrick’s head. And given the lineman’s propensity for stomping on opponents over his career, that doesn’t make the situation look any more favorable for Suh.

Thankfully, Fitzpatrick was fine after taking the blow from the foot of Suh and was able to stay on the field. He got Suh back by continuing to dominate the Dolphins on the scoreboard.

Though Suh may not have been penalized at the time, it’s safe to say that the NFL will be taking a look at film of this play and that a fine could be heading Suh’s way in the next few days.
