The Colorado Rapids continue to be linked with a possible move for Mexican international, Carlos Vela.

The 2015 Major League Soccer season is one that Colorado Rapids fans will want to forget as quickly as possibly. They finished dead last in the Western Conference, on 37 points, with only the abysmal Chicago Fire ending their campaign with fewer points.

Things may finally be looking up for the Rapids though, as the team continues to be linked with a plethora of players. It is no secret that MLS is becoming an increasingly popular choice to ply one’s trade, with some of soccer’s biggest stars making the move over in recent years. One name that has been consistently been discussed in a potential move to MLS has been that of Mexican international, Carlos Vela.

During an end of season interview, Rapids vice president of soccer operations and technical director, Paul Bravo, confirmed that the Real Sociedad striker is indeed part of Colorado’s discovery list, but refused to go into much detail about the subject.

"“What I wouldn’t want to do is speak about a player that we don’t have. That’s disrespectful to the other club and disrespectful to the player. We own priority over [Vela], so we have the first crack [in MLS] at signing him. There’s a reason why he’s on our discovery list. We don’t want to be frivolous about who we put on our discovery list, so there’s a reason why he’s there.”"

At just 26 years of age, Vela would undoubtedly provide a massive offensive boost for the Rapids. With just 33 goals, no team in the entire league found the back of the net less than Colorado did.

Vela is currently in his fifth season in La Liga with Real Sociedad, and has two goals in 11 league games. The striker has played across Europe, featuring for the likes of Arsenal, West Bromwich Albion, and Osasuna. He was also recently named to the Mexican national team squad set to take on El Salvador on Friday and Honduras on November 17th.
