Brandon Marshall catches a 17-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick.

After coming off of two tough back-to-back losses to the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans, New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall is helping his team regain the lost momentum.

On a third-and-10 from inside the red zone, the former Miami Dolphins receiver ran up the seam and blew past Dolphins CB Brent Grimes for the 17-yard score. The 5’10 Grimes seemed to have his hands full against the 6’4 Marshall.

The score was setup by a Marcus Williams interception of Ryan Tannehill.

While Marshall’s yardage has been unimpressive, he has caught a touchdown in three previous games. This recent touchdown catch keeps the streak alive to four. He has also been struggling with a toe and ankle injuries this season. And yet, despite the nagging injuries, Marshall has been a very rewarding pickup for the Jets this season, coming over as part of a trade with the Chicago Bears.

The Jets are tied with the Bills for second in the AFC East each with 5-5 records. The Dolphins aren’t far behind both teams with a 4-6 record. Both teams are in the hunt for the final playoff spot currently held by the Kansas City Chiefs who are also 5-5.
