Philip Rivers moved into the No. 12 spot for passing touchdowns, moving past Joe Montana.

The San Diego Chargers are having a dismal season. They have suffered some very close losses and are sitting at the bottom of the AFC West with a 2-8 record.

It doesn’t mean the Chargers have punched it in for the rest of the season. Quarterback Philip Rivers has put in impressive numbers against the Jacksonville Jaguars, making fantasy owners who benched him question their life choices.

Rivers completed 29-of-43 for 300 yards and four touchdowns. This has given him a 118.4 quarterback rating. His third touchdown pass of the day put him past Joe Montana in the all-time passing touchdown list. The Chargers defeated the Jaguars 31-25, snapping their six-game losing streak.

The memes are already flooding social media.

And here is one of Rivers’s touchdown passes of the day.

Two of those touchdown passes went to another future legend, tight end Antonio Gates.  Despite the Chargers not living up to expectations this year, Rivers demonstrates why he should be considered on the list of legendary quarterbacks.
