It took Cristiano Ronaldo just three minutes on Saturday to open the scoring and bury a stunning shot against Athletic Bilbao.

Real Madrid were looking to kick off the La Liga weekend with an important win at home against Athletic Bilbao. Los Blancos have not lost since Zinedine Zidane took over as head coach for Rafa Benitez, winning five of six games. Sitting four points behind Barcelona for top spot in the league means that they can’t afford to let many more points slip away though, especially at the Santiago Bernabeu.

On Saturday, it took the club’s biggest star, Cristiano Ronaldo, just three minutes to find the back of the net. The Portuguese winger beat Athletic Bilbao’s goalkeeper, Gorka Moreno, with a brilliant shot that he had no chance to stop.

However, it didn’t take long for the visitors to respond, levelling the game up just seven minutes later. Javier Eraso found a way to beat Keylor Navas in the 10th minute to put his side back in the game.

"GOOOOAL!Oh no @raphaelvarane! Javier Eraso and @AthleticClub gifted equalizer. #LaLigahttps://t.co/2Ajf7nOEvC— beIN SPORTS USA (@beINSPORTSUSA) February 13, 2016"

Coming into the match, Real Madrid sat in third place behind both Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. They will have to quickly turn their attention to the UEFA Champions League though, as they visit Roma next in the first leg of their Round of 16 aggregate series.

The match will kick off from the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Tuesday at 2:45 p.m. ET.
