Not to spoil the video, but Jon Snow is alive again.
In spite of being related to and produced by Notre Dame, the video is a fun five minute watch. Highlights include:
2:10 – The look on Jewell’s face as she comes to terms with playing Best of 3. The worst part of friendly competition is being friendly, and we know friendly here. “I don’t care” sometimes means “I care really super a lot.”
2:23 – Jewell swishing from half court on her first try. That’s hard.
3:38 – Jewell’s long, over the backboard shot. She’s very good at basketball.
June 25, 2015 – Jerian Grant gets drafted by the Wizards. (I had to link to a different video because the original one didn’t really have any great moments for him. Journalistic integrity is a tricky thing. Balance and whatnot.)
I recommend watching the video before reading this or the prior three paragraphs, but Jewell won, and she won well. Jerian has a bit of work to do on his unguarded left-handed set shots, and Jewell’s banks could use a bit of polish. However, the handshake at the end was a strong moment of sportsmanship, and etiquette is what we watch sports for.
