The Chicago Blackhawks face the Nashville Predators in Game 4 of their NHL playoff series at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday, April 20.

The Chicago Blackhawks were finally able to beat Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne. Unfortunately for Blackhawk fans, it still was not enough for Chicago to beat Nashville. The Blackhawks enter Game 4 facing elimination.

The Blackhawks were up 2-0 after the second period in Game 3. But Nashville was able to tie the game with two goals from Filip Forsberg, including one where goaltender interference was not called on the goal. In overtime, Swiss rookie Kevin Fiala scored the game-winning goal to put the Predators in a commanding series lead.

Outside of the second period on Monday night, the Predators have controlled most of the series. Nashville took 49 shots in Game 3, compared to Chicago’s 36. Rinne has been the best player in the playoffs. If the Predators advance further in the playoffs, Rinne should win the Conn Smythe Trophy.

Chicago’s offensive core of Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Marian Hossa and Artemi Panarin have been held to one goal in the series. If Chicago has any hope of extending their season they need all four players to set up and find a way to score on Rinne.
