The San Francisco 49ers haven’t ruled out selecting a quarterback with their second-overall pick.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the 49ers are still weighing their options with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, and some think a quarterback is very possible.

Rapoport also stated the 49ers have done plenty of research on each of the top quarterbacks in this class, and that a quarterback like Mitchell Trubisky has the traits Kyle Shanahan looks for in a signal caller.

The 49ers have been connected to a number of prospects in the weeks leading up to the draft, as their interest in Leonard Fournette has been well documented. San Francisco has also been rumored to be one of the teams in the top 10 who are looking to trade down, as there are almost a dozen prospects worthy of the No. 2 overall selection.

The Cleveland Browns are also said to have interest in Mitchell Trubisky, even at No. 1 overall. With the 49ers stating their interest in taking a quarterback, it could force Cleveland to either take Trubisky with the first-overall pick, or to make a trade with San Francisco to move up from No. 12 to No. 2 after selecting Myles Garrett.
