Robert Griffin III hasn’t found work since his departure from the Browns, but it looks like he may be close to another NFL opportunity this summer.

Robert Griffin III didn’t get much of a chance to prove himself with the Cleveland Browns last season with more injury troubles to hold back his career, and he wasn’t been able to find a new job on any roster this offseason. Now, we may be close to another chance for RG3.

Griffin seemed like he may have a ton of choices in free agency, with plenty of teams looking to fill some quarterback needs this offseason. He showed some interest in joining the New York Jets, but nothing came through and Griffin remained a free agent.

However, with training camp starting for some teams on Monday, Griffin is now getting some interest for a possible return and may be heading to another AFC team if it works out.

According to Adam Schefter, Griffin is scheduled for a workout for the Los Angeles Chargers, and has been training with one of his former coaches in Pep Hamilton, a former assistant for the Browns and current member of the Michigan Wolverines coaching staff.

Griffin wouldn’t be the starter for the Chargers, and would be auditioning for a role as Phillip Rivers’ backup as the Chargers make their debut with a new home. However, as with any team, injuries pop up left and right, and Griffin will have to prove he can perform as a starter with the success he had as a rookie if he has any hope of landing with the Chargers.

Additionally, Griffin missed three quarters of the season last year in his lone season with the Browns, and it’d be interesting to see how the Chargers view his durability after another injury-plagued season.
