Dez Bryant did a good deed at Cowboys training camp on Tuesday, and it turned out to be a nice birthday gift for a young fan.

Many are debating whether or not the Dallas Cowboys can repeat their success from last season as their team’s training camp rolled along for its second day on Tuesday, but it looks like Dez Bryant was focused on some other things as that conversation went on.

Bryant is looking to lead the team’s receiving corps this year, especially with the departure of Lucky Whitehead from the Cowboys after the weird mistaken identity scandal that rocked the receiver this week. Bryant is a big piece of the conversation surrounding the Cowboys keeping up the pace from last year, and he of course knows he’ll need to perform well this season.

However, with a ton of eyes on him at training camp on Tuesday, Bryant was a little preoccupied with other things to worry about all of that for a few moments. After saying hello to a young fan in attendance at the team’s camp, Bryant saw the fan moved to tears from the moment, and invited him to come play catch with the Cowboys star on the field.

And, as it turns out, it was the young boy’s birthday, and it turned into quite the birthday gift.

Training camp always has cool moments between NFL players and fans who come out to show support for their team in the summer, whether it’s an autograph, cool picture or some other great interaction. However, playing catch with a young birthday boy definitely takes the cake (no pun intended) when it comes to one of the better, feel-good moments you’ll see this summer.

Now, maybe it’s time to get the kid a contract for the team to help fill out their receiver needs for the year.
