Brighton and West Ham enter Friday’s game in 14th and 15th place in the Premier League table with eight points. While Brighton is right where they are supposed to be after getting promoted last season, West Ham has had a disappointing start to the season.
After losing their first three games to start the season, West Ham has rebounded, picking up eight points in their last five games. Outside of Mexican striker Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez, the Hammers have struggled to score this season. Hernandez has scored three of West Ham’s eight goals this season. Defensively, only Crystal Palace and Stoke have allowed more goals than the 14 goals that West Ham have allowed this season. Joe Hart has been a disappointment since joining the club and will have to pick up his level of play if he wants to be England’s first choice at the World Cup next summer.

Brighton have picked up four points in their past three games, however, the club has struggled to score goals. Only five teams have scored fewer than the six goals Brighton has scored. Pascal Groß has been the best player this season for the Seagulls. The German midfielder has scored three goals and added two assists.
