Saying goodbye to Coach Fizdale and “Take That for Data!”

Tears were shed, objects were smashed, voices were raised. We at Fastbreak Breakfast had to say goodbye to coach David Fizdale in our own way. At least two of the three of us felt bad about the Memphis Grizzlies firing him so soon.

Is it the right move? Time will tell. Or more likely, it won’t at all because the roster and injury issues that plague Memphis will not be resolved with a new coach.

To wit:

So on our latest (mostly) mournful episode, we say goodbye to Fizz and drown our sorrows (for those of us who are sad) in the absurdities from the rest of the NBA, including the following:

  • Lance Stephenson playing both effectively and hilariously.
  • The Lakers already regaining control of Los Angeles as the Clippers bumble and stumble.
  • Andre Drummond and the Detroit Pistons continue to dominate. At what point can we stop waiting for the other shoe to drop?
  • After Gregg Popovich gets ejected from a game, how do we think he entertains himself?
  • If you were opening a fast food restaurant, which current or former NBA players would you choose to staff it?
