The Vegas Golden Knights host the San Jose Sharks in Game 5 of the Pacific Division Final. Here’s everything you need to know to watch.

The San Jose Sharks evened their series with the Vegas Golden Knights at two games apiece after winning 4-0 in Game 4. Martin Jones was excellent in Game 4, stopping all 34 shots he faced. San Jose needs Jones to continue playing well if they are going to advance to the conference finals. Vegas is looking to bounce back on home ice. Only Winnipeg and Pittsburgh had more wins than Vegas on home ice in the regular season. The Golden Knights went 29-10-2 at T-Mobile Arena and have won three of four in the playoffs at home.

For Vegas to win Game 5, they need to continue playing great defense. The Golden Knights are allowing an NHL-best 1.75 goals per game in the playoffs. For that to continue, Marc-Andre Fleury needs to keep playing the best hockey of his career. Fleury has a .951 save percentage, .039 points better than his career average. Vegas has scored 21 goals in the playoffs with 11 different players finding the back of the net.

While having multiple scorers is a good thing, the Golden Knights only have only one player, William Karlsson, with more than two goals. Vegas needs another player to step up and become a reliable scoring threat.

San Jose’s playoff success will be determined by how Jones plays in net. If Jones plays well, the Sharks will have a chance to win. However, San Jose cannot overcome a poor performance in net from Jones. Logan Couture has been the Sharks’ best offensive player in the playoffs, recording nine points.

San Jose needs Couture and Joe Pavelski to keep producing at their point per game levels if they are going to get enough goals to advance. The Sharks offense will likely get a boost in Game 5. Center Joe Thornton will make his playoff debut after missing almost half of the season with a knee injury.
