The Premier League season wraps up on Sunday with Swansea hosting Stoke at Liberty Stadium. On Tuesday, Swansea lost 1-0 to Southampton and will need a miracle to avoid relegation. The Swans need to win on Sunday and have Manchester City defeat Southampton by a wide margin if they are going to stay up. Stoke were the first team relegated this season and have had weeks to prepare themselves to play in the Championship next season.

Carlos Carvalhal will reportedly leave Swansea if he does not keep the team up. Swansea have lost four straight games and failed to win any of their last eight games. The Swans have picked up three points and scored only two goals over their last eight games. No team have scored fewer goals than Swansea this season. Carvalhal’s side have found the back of the net only 27 times. The Swans started Jordan and Andre Ayew at the front against Southampton. Jordan Ayew leads the club with seven goals. However, Andre Ayew has not scored since rejoining the Welsh club.

While Stoke have already been relegated, they can ruin Swansea’s hopes of stay up by taking points on Sunday. The Potters lost their last game 2-1 to Crystal Palace and have won only one game since the start of 2018. Stoke’s biggest problem this season has been their inability to defend. No Premier League club have allowed more goals than Stoke this season. Xherdan Shaqiri has been Stoke’s best player this season, scoring eight goals and assisting on six goals. The Swiss international will be a hot commodity in the summer when bigger club attempt to sign him.
