Cavs Legion GC snags 2 wins in NBA 2K League: Highlights and recap

The second week of the NBA 2K League regular season brought an opportunity for Cavs Legion GC to claim two victories, and they did just that.

As the Cleveland Cavaliers found themselves in an 0-2 hole heading into Saturday night’s contest against the Boston Celtics, Cavs Legion GC was in a similar position having dropped their regular-season opener in Week 1. Both teams made adjustments, and on Saturday night, both teams triumphed.

After the first night of the second week of the NBA 2K League’s regular season saw Pistons GT stay unbeaten, the first contest on Saturday, May 19 featured two teams aiming to do the same. Celtics Crossover Gaming (2-0) and Mavs Gaming (1-0) got it going with a litany of impressive individual performances.

Mavs Gaming matched double-doubles from ARSONAL x (20 points, 16 rebounds) and oFAB (13 points and assists) with double-doubles from Dimez (10 points, 11 assists) and Dayfri (17 points, 13 rebounds) to claim the 66-59 win and improve to 2-0 on the season with another game on the night yet to play.

The next game of the night featured a Magic Gaming (0-1) team that similarly to Cavs Legion GC was looking to put a regular-season opening loss behind them facing a Wizards District Gaming squad that had done exactly that the night before.

Wizards District got four players in double figures to overcome KontruL’s 12 points and 10 assists, getting their second win in as many days 70-65. Next on the court was Cavs Legion for their first of two contests, facing Grizz Gaming (1-0).

Sick x 973 (24 points, 12 rebounds) and Godddof2k (12 points, 11 rebounds) helped Cavs Legion dominate the glass and claim its first win of the regular season 62-52. Cavs Legion would play again, but not until after Jazz Gaming (1-1) and Raptors Uprising GC (0-2) took their turn on the stage.

Jazz Gaming was powered by Yeah I Compete (27 points, 14 assists) and MrSlaughter01 (23 points, 15 rebounds) to a 79-76 overtime win that propelled them over the .500 mark on the season. Cavs Legion would then re-take the stage with the same goal in mind against Kings Guard Gaming (1-0).

A 10-spot in both points and rebounds by worthingcolt wasn’t enough for Kings Guard Gaming to match Sick x 973’s 35 points and 11 assists as Cavs Legion swept its games on the day with the 78-63 victory. That would be a hard act to follow as a crowd-pleaser but two unbeaten teams — 76ers GC (1-0) and Mavs Gaming (2-0) — looked to put on a show of their own in the next game.

Radiant’s 20 points and 11 assists complemented Steez’s 18 points with 12 rebounds to keep 76ers GC unbeaten heading into Week 3 75-65. The final game of the night pit two more undefeated teams against each other in Blazer5 Gaming (1-0) and Knicks Gaming (1-0).

GOOFY757 dropped 29 points and collected 12 boards for Knicks Gaming but it wasn’t enough to stave off Blazer5 Gaming and OneWildWalnut’s 24 points with a dozen rebounds in the 74-70 Blazer5 win. Heading into Week 3 of the regular season, the league standings are as follows:
