If you’ve ever seen the movie 300, you know that if you’re going to be called a Spartan, you have to look and act the part. Under Mark Dantonio, Michigan State has certainly acted the part with a 100-45 record under the current head coach’s reign. All things considered, they’ve looked the part as well. Even with a fairly basic color scheme, the Spartans have some of the sharpest uniforms — not only in the Big Ten — but around the nation.

On the surface, the Michigan State uniforms are some of the most basic uniforms out there — other than maybe their rivals Michigan and a team to be named later on this list. The green base encompasses the entire uniform. Unlike other uniforms on this list, there are no funky patterns, no different colors on the shoulders and no unique collar. They’re just green. Even though the collar is a different shade of green, it’s hardly noticeable at first glance. There’s also nothing special about the color of the lettering or numbering.

Now, you must be thinking, why would a team with nothing special about their uniform make this list? The answer is simple; font. Due to the simplistic nature of the uniform and a basic color scheme, the font stands out. The font on the Michigan State uniform embodies the spirit of a Spartan. Not to mention the Spartan helmet logo towering above the school name is a popular trend turned into nice touch on the green uniforms. The Michigan State green uniforms may not be the most intricate, but they are certainly one of the better-looking uniforms.
