X Games Minneapolis 2018 kicks off on Thursday. Is Shane O’Neill competing in skateboard street?

The Summer X Games returns to Minneapolis, Minnesota, for the second year in a row when it kicks off on Thursday, July 19, and runs through the 22. Viewers will get a series of extreme sporting events, live concerts and if you’re there in person, some pretty rad swag booths.

But the question that seems to be on the minds of virtually all skateboarding fans is — will Shane O’Neill be competing?

Well, we’ve got some great news: He is!

O’Neill is a 28-year-old Australian skateboarder known for his fancy tricks and cool demeanor. According to his X Games bio, his “technical and overall skating abilities are virtually unmatched.” Which is why fans just absolutely love him.

He’s yet to capture a gold in the X Games (his highest podium spot was silver at XG Oslo 2016), but he’s perched nicely to achieve that this time around.

O’Neill will be competing against some of the top skateboarders from around the world.
