Stanford vs. Washington State preview, odds, prediction, TV channel, live stream

No. 14 Washington State is looking to grab control of the Pac-12 North and needs to keep winning conference games to make sure that happens. Right now, the No. 24 Stanford Cardinal stand in the way.
Last weekend, the No. 14 Washington State Cougars established their place in the national college football landscape by defeating the Oregon Ducks. That win put the Cougars in control of their own destiny for the Pac-12 North and may be what Washington State needed to start a resume for the College Football Playoffs.
The Cougs have an incredible offense and a surprisingly strong defense. Quarterback Gardner Minshew is leading the former by completing 69.8 percent of his passes for 392 passing yards and 3.3 touchdowns per game. On the defensive side of things, linebacker Peyton Pelluer is the leading tackler on a defense that holds its foes to 314.6 total yards of offense per game.
Still, Stanford isn’t a team that Washington State should take lightly. While this isn’t the same old Stanford team that we’re typically used to seeing, it’s still a team that could very well win at home against a good opponent. The Cardinal were able to snap their two-game losing streak by beating Arizona State.
The Sun Devils aren’t particularly good and this weekend has a chance to get rough for Stanford. Washington State will do everything it can to get after an unusually porous Stanford defense. The Cougs’ potent offense should be more than capable of scoring against a defense that is allowing over 400 yards of offense per game this season. With Stanford’s Bryce Love being dinged up, who knows where the Cardinal’s offense will come from in this game?

Prediction: Something that makes little sense with this matchup is how Stanford is still favored over a powerful Washington State team that is fresh off of a win over Oregon. The Cougars could very well be the best team that the Pac-12 has to offer this season and Stanford has been blown out twice already. Bryce Love is hurt and he’s really Stanford’s best hope at winning games this year. Washington State should win and the Cougs should win by a solid margin.
