After a not-so-great start to the 2018 season, the Pittsburgh Steelers are finally starting to hit their stride.

It’s probably still not a good idea to pencil the Pittsburgh Steelers in for the Super Bowl in Atlanta next February. But if nothing else, the Steelers are making this 2018 season interesting again for themselves and their fans.

Coming out of its bye week, Pittsburgh won its third straight game with a victory over the division rival Cleveland Browns at Heinz Field. Now typically, a win over the Browns isn’t really something to celebrate as many teams have accomplished that feat in recent years.

But, this wasn’t just a win for the Steelers. It was a BIG win; a good way to start the second half of their season after a week of rest. And they won the game in dominant fashion as well with a final score of 33-18.

Baker Mayfield and the Browns didn’t make it easy for much of the game. But a pair of rushing touchdowns by James Conner, as well as a field goal by Chris Boswell, helped put the game out of reach for the Steelers towards the end. Veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger played a solid game as well, throwing for 257 yards and two touchdowns.

For Pittsburgh fans, it’s good to see the Steelers finally get a winning streak going. It hasn’t exactly been a picture-perfect season, as they haven’t seen their superstar running Le’Veon Bell yet in 2018 as he is holding out over a contract dispute. But Bell’s absence has made room for the emergence of Conner, who has been a pleasant surprise for this Steelers team.

Next. Of course the Browns want to fire the wrong guy. dark

It was a rough start to the year with Bell’s status up in the air, and the Steelers kicked the season off with a tie in Cleveland. They then proceeded to get off to a 1-2-1 start, wildly disappointing for a team with Super Bowl hopes.

But finally, the Steelers seem to be hitting their stride after putting together three straight wins. They might have to fight for their lives to beat out the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC North, but the good news for the fans is that their team is still very much alive.
