A big fight between Leonard Fournette and Shaq Lawson broke out in the third quarter of the Bills-Jaguars game.

Sometimes when you have nothing left to play for in a season, it’s hard to keep your emotions from flying all over the place.

As the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars battled in a Week 12 game in Orchard Park — with the season effectively over for both teams — tensions seemed to boil over for both Jacksonville’s Leonard Fournette and Buffalo’s Shaq Lawson, and it became pretty epic.

Following what was originally believed to be a Jaguars touchdown by Donte Moncrief in the third quarter of a 14-14 game, there was a little bit of a scuffle between a couple of players. Once Fournette arrived at the scene, fists started flying between himself and Lawson, and then things started to get out of hand.

The fight between Fournette and Lawson came close to spilling over into the stands, until other players and officials started to pile on with the hope of trying to restore order. Though the fight eventually subsided on the field, Fournette and Lawson were both ejected from the game, and it wasn’t easy to get the pair up the tunnel and back to their respective locker rooms.

Even as they made their way back up the tunnel, Fournette and Lawson continued to jaw at each other, and still needed to be restrained.

Though fighting is never condoned in the NFL, it’s understandable why frustrations are flying high for both of these teams. They were both in the playoffs last year, with the Jaguars being just a win away from the Super Bowl, and they each came into the season with hope they could build off of their successful seasons from a year ago.

But both teams have gotten nothing but inconsistency from their quarterbacks and their offenses, and that’s why they will soon find themselves on the outside looking in when January arrives.

When players are frustrated, it only takes the pushing of the right buttons for all hell to break loose.
