It’s almost time for college football’s most prestigious award to be handed out. How much time will the Heisman Trophy award ceremony take this evening?

Tonight, the Heisman Trophy will be awarded. At 8:00 p.m. eastern tonight, college football’s most prestigious award will be given to either Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray, Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa, or Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins. The trio of quarterbacks are the three finalists for the award and all have done quite a bit to get to this point.

ESPN will be hosting the award presentation show as part of their college football regular season wrap up. The ceremony will be the biggest thing that is going on in the college football world today as the only FBS game going on this weekend is the Army-Navy game. There’s some FCS matchups going on as part of their playoffs that could be interesting to watch, but those won’t draw the attention of most college football fans.

But the lack of college football is only part of the reason that the Heisman trophy ceremony is the most interesting thing happening this weekend.

The other key part of this is that the Heisman race this season has been incredibly intriguing. Murray, Tagovailoa, and Haskins have all been remarkable this season and have shredded all of the defenses that they’ve faced. All three have helped win conference championships. Murray and Tagovailoa have brought their teams back to the playoffs and Haskins has guided Ohio State to the Rose Bowl.

So, how long will it take for us to find out who the winner is? Just how long is the most interesting thing in college football this weekend going to take?

Well, it’ll go for about an hour. The presentation starts at 8:00 p.m. and there’ll be plenty of discussion about the backstories of each of the finalists for the award. There’s also going to be highlights from this season shown and former winners will be shown and recognized to an extent as well.

With Tagovailoa and Murray being the two most likely to win the award, there’s surely no way that the Orange Bowl featuring Alabama and Oklahoma will be discussed heavily throughout the show, right? Even if it is, the show will only last for about an hour, and then we’ll know who the 2018 Heisman winner is. Even if this storyline is beaten like a dead horse, it won’t last more than an hour as part of this ceremony.

And then, once ESPN goes through all of the pageantry and presentation and Orange Bowl discussion, the award will be handed out. After about an hour, the 2018 Heisman Trophy winner will be revealed.
