Valdosta State and Ferris State are headed down to Texas to play for the NCAA Division II National Championship. Here’s everything you need to keep up with the championship game.

There’s a pretty good chance that you aren’t overly familiar with the Valdosta State Bulldogs or the Ferris State Blazers, and that’s something of a shame. Both teams are undefeated, both teams have crushed just about everyone that they’ve played, and now both teams are ready to win a national title. Valdosta State and Ferris State are set to face off for the NCAA Division II National Championship Game.

The Bulldogs enter into this game with an offense that’s averaging 526 yards per game. Redshirt freshman running back Jamar Thompkins is a big reason for that. The talented young running back has accumulated 1257 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. The most impressive part of Thompkins season so far is that he’s averaging an astonishing 10.4 yards per carry.

In the backfield, Thompkins is accompanied by another pretty good runner in quarterback Rogan Wells. This season, Wells has run for 693 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also happens to be completing 57 percent of his passes and has thrown for 2,726 yards and 33 touchdowns against just four interceptions.

To counter that, the Blazers will turn to quarterback Jayru Campbell. Campbell’s athleticism has been instrumental for Ferris State this season as he has run for 1,338 yards and 20 touchdowns while also throwing for 2,832 yards and 26 touchdowns against five interceptions.
