The Buffalo Bulls are taking a trip down to Mobile, Alabama to face off against the Troy Trojans in the Dollar General Bowl.
The Troy Trojans aren’t having to travel very far to get to where the Dollar General bowl is being played. According to Google Maps, the drive from Troy University’s campus down to Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama takes around three hours, depending on traffic. The Buffalo Bulls, on the other hand, are racking up some pretty serious airline miles to make the trip. If the Bulls were to drive from their campus to Mobile, they would be stuck in a bus for about 17 hours.
When these two teams ultimately do meet after their respective trips, the resulting game should be an enjoyable one to watch. Troy is coming into the game after a successful season during which the Trojans won 9 games. They went 7-1 in the Sun Belt and just barely missed out on a chance to win their division. If Troy can win this game, they’ll have won at least 10 games for the third consecutive season under Neal Brown’s guidance.
Buffalo has had plenty of success this season as well. The Bulls boast a 10-3 record after falling just short in the MAC championship against Northern Illinois. Now, they’re looking to win 11 games just two years removed from a two-win season.

Prediction: Buffalo and Troy are very similar, evenly matched teams. Both the Bulls and the Trojans approach their game plans with fairly balanced offensive attacks and then have similarly durable defenses. The main difference here is that Troy has been forced to switch up their starting quarterback due to injuries. Troy’s Sawyer Smith has played well, but Buffalo’s Tyree Jackson has proven himself more this season. Expect Buffalo to come out on top in a tight game.
