Missouri and Oklahoma State are meeting each other in Memphis. The Tigers and the Cowboys will compete for the 2018 Liberty Bowl. Here’s everything you need to know to keep up with the game.

The last time the Missouri Tigers and the Oklahoma State Cowboys faced each other the two teams were fighting for the 2014 AT&T Cotton Bowl. The stakes were high and the two teams were truly great. Oklahoma State had made a run for the Big 12 title and Missouri was the top team in the SEC East. In the final year of the BCS, both teams came into the game with plenty of recognition and respect.

A lot has happened since then and the two teams are nowhere near as good as what they were in that meeting. Now, in 2018, Mizzou and Oklahoma State are set to meet each other again. This time, however, they’re battling in Memphis, Tennessee for the Liberty Bowl.

Oklahoma State went 6-6 this season and that was largely due to their offense keeping them in games. The Cowboys were pitiful at times on defense and were gashed regularly. This team put up 38.1 points per game and they needed every single point they could get as they gave up 32.4 points per game.

That means that Mizzou quarterback Drew Lock will have plenty of opportunities to score. Lock has been solid during his senior season, throwing for 3125 yards and 25 touchdowns while completing 63.2 percent of his passes. With Larry Rountree III beside him in the backfield, Lock should be able to lead the Tigers to plenty of success in this game.

Oklahoma State’s Taylor Cornelius will do his best to keep the Pokes in the game. He’s thrown for 3,637 yards and 28 touchdowns while also running for 385 yards and 10 more scores. Expect to see a lot from Cornelius here.

Prediction: This game has a pretty good chance of playing out pretty similarly to that 2014 Cotton Bowl. The Tigers are good enough to win this game by double digits, but both defenses present in this game have the potential to be remarkably embarrassing. The safe bet is to pick Mizzou to come out on top of the 2018 Liberty Bowl.

Score: Missouri 38, Oklahoma State 27
