Nick Foles left last week’s game with bruised ribs, but he will be a full-go for the Eagles when they take on the Bears in Chicago on Sunday.

The Philadelphia Eagles had a minor scare during Week 17 in regard to Nick Foles, who is once again manning the ship as starting quarterback. The defending Super Bowl champions defeated the Washington Redskins to secure the final playoff spot in the NFC, giving them a chance to defend their title. However, things appeared bleak for a moment when Foles left the game in the fourth quarter with bruised ribs.

But Philadelphia has since received good news regarding Foles: he was a full participant in practice on Thursday, and he appears to be ready to go as the Eagles head into Wild Card weekend.

The Eagles face a tall task in the first round of the playoffs, facing the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. The Bears have been somewhat of a surprise team in 2018, beating out the Minnesota Vikings for the NFC North title. Looking back, it shouldn’t have been much of a surprise after all, as Chicago boasts arguably the best defense in the NFL and an offense that really blossomed into something special this season.

The Bears’ defense is headed by none other than Khalil Mack, someone who has made his living out of terrorizing opposing quarterbacks. That’s what will await Foles on Sunday as he hopes to lead the Eagles back to a second straight Super Bowl.

If he manages to do so, it would be a tremendous Cinderella story for Foles and the Eagles. They endured an up-and-down season for the ages, and they appeared to be finished on multiple occasions. But just like last year, Foles stepped in when Carson Wentz went down, and he started piling up wins.

Now the Eagles are playing January football again. But to have a chance to advance past Chicago and keep their hopes of repeating as champions alive, they will need Foles to be fully healthy.

Based on what we’ve heard this week, it looks like a healthy Foles will show up at Soldier Field on Sunday, and the Eagles will have a fighting chance.
