The Georgia Bulldogs and the Texas A&M Aggies fell hard in the FanSided Top 25 college after being swept by Mississippi State and Ole Miss.

Georgia and Texas A&M have been pretty impressive throughout the season up to this point, but after both were swept this past weekend, both teams have fallen quite a bit in the latest FanSided Top 25 college baseball rankings.

But while they got the pleasure (or rather displeasure) of making the headline and intro paragraph this week, the Aggies and the Bulldogs were far from being the only college baseball teams that hit a rough stretch this weekend and paid for it in the rankings.

We’ll get more into some of the other teams that struggled later.

For now, UCLA is still at the top, Stanford sits at No. 2, the Razorbacks are up to No. 3, Oregon State is at No. 4, and Vanderbilt rounds things out at No. 5.

Teams on the rise

The Baylor Bears made a pretty impressive jump after dominantly sweeping the TCU Horned Frogs. The Bears are currently a game and a half ahead of the Texas Tech Red Raiders right now in the Big 12 title race, so keep an eye on the two teams over the next few weeks as the season wraps up.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets made the jump right into the top 10 at No. 9. That means that Georgia Tech is ranked higher than Georgia right now. That probably feels good for rivalry reasons, I suppose. Given that the Yellow Jackets beat the Bulldogs in a midweek matchup last week, it’s fair to have both teams set there.

Other teams that have improved lately: Miami Hurricanes (swept the Virginia Tech Hokies), North Carolina Tar Heels (won a series against Virginia with back-to-back 5-4 wins), and

Teams sliding down

Man, there was a multitude of teams that were swept this weekend.

Texas A&M and Georgia got the headline because they were both high-profile teams that happened to get swept by two other high-profile teams.

But the Aggies and the Bulldogs definitely weren’t alone in being swept. Oklahoma State was swept by Texas Tech. Tennessee was swept by Arkansas. Auburn was swept by Vanderbilt. All three of these teams dropped right out of the FanSided Top 25. Theoretically, all three could jump right back in through.

Other teams that struggled this weekend: UC Santa Barbara (lost its series against UC Riverside), Arizona State (dropped a road series against Washington), and North Carolina State (lost a road series against Notre Dame).
