Evil is the newest supernatural thriller coming to CBS. Here’s what you need to know to watch the series premiere on TV and online.

Every television season, it seems like there is a new supernatural show on the fall TV schedule. But Evil takes a different approach as they combine the procedural with elements of the Catholic Church.

The series description provides the following clues:

"Skeptical female psychologist Kristen Bouchard joins David Acosta, who is training to be a Catholic priest, and a blue collar contractor as they investigate the church’s backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions and other extraordinary occurrences.Their job is to assess if there’s a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work, examining the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion. The series is created by Robert and Michelle King."

The exploration of science and religion is intriguing because it suggests that in the Evil mythology, it’s possible that some of these phenomena could be the real thing, and seeing that come to life would be a lot of fun because it’s new and different.

Here is the episode description of the Evil pilot episode:

"Forensic psychologist Kristen Bouchard is hired by the Catholic Church to determine whether a serial killer is possessed by a demon or merely a psychopath."

Clearly, Bouchard will be the Scully to Acorsta’s Mulder as they explore these unexplained mysteries. Bouchard is new to this line of work, having focused on profiling criminals. This is a whole new world for her, and it will put everything she knows about the way the world works to the test.

On the other hand, David Acosta has a lot on the line. He is training to be a priest, so he needs to take each new case and make sure he gets it right. Deciding which cases are real and which ones have other explanations won’t be easy.
