The 76ers had to separate teammates Joel Embiid and Shake Milton.

A heated exchange occurs in front of the Philadelphia 76ers bench during in their NBA restart opener.

After the 76ers rocky start, the 76ers had to separate teammates Joel Embiid and Shake Milton as the two were engaged in a heated exchange during a timeout in the first quarter. The 76ers had resumed play this 2019-20 season against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday.

For the 76ers, this is nothing new with Embiid finding himself in the middle of chaos during the team’s struggles. After all, Embiid did compare himself to Harvey Dent in Batman’s The Dark Knight  (2008) earlier this season.

“You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain #TheProcess,” Embiid cited Dent’s quote in a caption on Instagram.

This is a Philadelphia team that has fallen short of expectations with the two All Stars, Embiid and Ben Simmons, not taking this team as far as analysts believe they could, especially in the Eastern Conference.

Saturday’s 127-121 loss against the Pacers may have more drama brewing up for the 76ers. As for Embiid, he is certainly not to blame posting up a double-double with 41 points and 21 rebounds. With Tobias Harris dropping 30 points and a double-double by Simmons, the 76ers will have to find ways to get others involved to win as a team. With role players like Milton only attributing a rebound and three assists on 19 minutes played, that is not going to help this team become contenders once the playoffs roll around.

As a leader on the team, Embiid will have to find ways to get their role players more involved. In terms of his individual play, Embiid put up one of the most efficient performances in decades. During Saturday’s game, Embiid became the first player in 35 years to record a stat line of over 40 points and 20 rebounds with 3 blocks while playing for fewer than 35 minutes on the court.
