Keith Butler and TJ Watt are trying to figure out how to stop the Ravens

The Steelers haven’t found a way to stop the Ravens run game thus far on Sunday. Lamar Jackson, JK Dobbins and even Gus Edwards have found daylight against the normally stout Pittsburgh defense. Previously, when the Steelers played some of the top rushing attacks in the game, they found a way to shut those stars down, instead forcing them to flex their far weaker passing attack.

When Pittsburgh has forced the Ravens into long, obvious passing downs, it’s worked to their advantage. Their only score on the day through one quarter was a pick-6 of Jackson on a throw the 2019 MVP would like to have back. That was a long time ago, however, and the Steelers are rightly frustrated.

Don’t read too much into the Watt-Butler disagreement

It’s the first time this year the Steelers defense has really faced adversity. Should they not make the necessary adjustments, it doesn’t appear their offense will bail them out this week.

Feuds like the one between Watt and Butler happen every week on the sidelines. It’s just a matter of whether the cameras catch it live. This Sunday, both Watt and Butler got unlucky.
