Vanderbilt is looking to lock up another championship while Mississippi State is trying to stay alive in the College World Series.

Game 1 of the College World Series finals didn’t go the way the Mississippi State Bulldogs hoped it might. After MSU’s Kamren James launched a home run off of Jack Leiter in the top of the 1st inning, the Commodores responded by scoring seven runs in the bottom of the 1st, killing any chance MSU had at a win.

Now, Vanderbilt is just one win away from going out and claiming their second straight national championship. Meanwhile, Mississippi State will be attempting to force a Game 3 as they try to stay alive in game 2 tonight.

Here’s what you need to watch the Mississippi State Bulldogs and Vanderbilt Commodores in Game 2 of the College World Series finals.

Vanderbilt was able to get an incredibly dominant performance from Leiter in Game 1 and are now poised to win another title. The Commodores just need to find a way to get past Mississippi State for a second time.

If the Bulldogs don’t bounce back from that horrific loss, then there’s a very real chance that Vandy wins tonight. But this particular team of Bulldogs has been in tough spots before. This isn’t the first time MSU has faced elimination this year and it’s not the first rough loss that the Bulldogs have gone through.

Mississippi State has the talent to get right back into the midst of this series and take the game tonight. MSU’s bullpen is deep and the Bulldogs have plenty of talented hitters in their lineup.

Should State find a way to win tonight, that’ll set up a Game 3 which will almost certainly have MSU’s Will Bednar facing Vanderbilt’s Kumar Rocker.
