New York Yankees trade deadline acquisition Anthony Rizzo hit his second home run with the team during Saturday’s game against the Miami Marlins.

New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman addressed an obvious need for the team, and that was to add more left-handed bats to the everyday lineup. After acquiring Joey Gallo, the Bronx Bombers struck a deal with the Chicago Cubs for first baseman Anthony Rizzo. In just two games with the team, Rizzo is already on a hot streak.

In the top of the seventh-inning, Rizzo blasted a monster solo homer to the right field stands to extend New York’s lead to 4-2. This now the second consecutive game in which Rizzo hit a home run while donning a Yankees uniform.

Rizzo did not waste any time in making a strong impression with his new team. Back on Friday, his first game with the Yankees, Rizzo hit a solo home run to right field.

To acquire Rizzo, Cashman sent over outfielder Kevin Alcanatara and right-handed pitcher Alexander Vizcaino to the Cubs in a deal on Thursday, a full day before the 4:00 p.m. ET trade deadline on Friday.

In just two games, Rizzo has officially become a fan favorite with the Yankees faithful. As for Cubs fans, they continue to shed a tear seeing Rizzo rake following his trade.
