Bob Stoops enjoyed watching the Oklahoma Sooners comeback to break the Texas Longhorns’ hearts.

It makes a ton of sense that former Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops would enjoy seeing the Sooners complete a comeback against the Texas Longhorns. Stoops, one of the most successful college coaches ever, spent the best parts of his career with the Sooners.

Stoops led Oklahoma for 18 years. During that time, he managed to find plenty of success against Texas, compiling an 11-7 record in the Red River Showdown. It shouldn’t be a surprise that Stoops enjoys seeing the Sooners find a way to hand Texas a loss.

And in this particular Red River Showdown, Oklahoma came back and won in what should have been a solid Texas victory. After trailing 38-20 at the half, OU roared back and outscored UT 35-10 in the second half to claim a 55-48 win.

Former Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops was thrilled with the Sooners’ win over Texas Longhorns

Oklahoma’s former head coach had a blast watching that victory.  Of course, his FOX Sports colleague Emmanuel Acho didn’t share those same feelings. Acho, a former player for the University of Texas, found himself crying after the Longhorns lost to the Sooners Saturday afternoon.

And that sort of emotional trend was likely observable with the average, everyday fans of the two teams as well. While Texas fans hated the way the 2021 Red River Showdown ended, it’s almost certain that OU fans truly loved the way this game unfolded.
