Dodgers fans are no-shows for winner-take-all Game 5

Despite hosting Game 5 at Dodgers Stadium, Los Angeles Dodgers fans are apparently no-shows to support their team in what could be their final NLCS game.

The Los Angeles Dodgers may have come back from a 3-1 deficit last year, but this year, Dodgers fans aren’t feeling as lucky.

At least, that’s what the ticket sales say because the famed stadium in LA doesn’t appear to be the place to be on Thursday night for Game 5 of the NLCS.

With just hours left to fill up the stadium, Dodgers tickets were going for a third of their original price. Coveted tickets that were once valued at $150 are going for just $50 on StubHub.

Dodgers fans lack faith in comeback as Game 5 ticket prices drop

The precipitous drop in ticket prices could be because the game is mere hours away, but the lacking desire for the limited tickets could also be because fans don’t want to see their favorite team eliminated firsthand. The same thing happened in Game 3 when the Dodgers failed to sell out their stadium.

Los Angeles publications described their 9-2 Game 4 loss as putting up “hours of cringe” and that the team is on the brink of elimination. However, this wouldn’t be the first time the club has come back and taken the series. It’s exactly what they did last October.

Remarkably, LA has replicated the results from the NLCS last season, losing Games 1, 2 and 4. Of course, they went on to win the next three before going on to win the World Series as well.

If the same type of comeback is going to happen for the club this season, though, the fans in attendance for Game 5 and the start of it are going to be much fewer than expected.
