The Atlanta Braves and the Houston Astros are getting geared up for the World Series, but who has home-field advantage this year?

As both the Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros advanced on past their opponents in the NLCS and ALCS respectively, they’re now set to collide in the 2021 World Series. Both Houston and Atlanta had home-field advantage in the previous round of the postseason, but obviously only one team can have it in the next round.

So, who has home-field advantage this year?

MLB designates that whichever of the two teams had the higher winning percentage during the regular season has earned the right to host the first two and the final two games of the World Series.

If you were keeping up with what happened in the regular season and are familiar with how these two teams played prior to the postseason, you’ve probably got a pretty good idea of who gets home-field advantage here.

Houston Astros get home-field advantage for 2021 World Series

The Astros are the beneficiary of the MLB’s home-field advantage rules here because their regular season win percentage happens to be higher than Atlanta’s. Houston went 95-67 during the regular season, which equates to a .586 win percentage.

Meanwhile, the Braves managed to go 88-73 through the regular season, meaning that Atlanta has a .547 win percentage. Because of that, Houston will get to host games 1, 2, 6, and 7 of the World Series while Atlanta gets 3, 4, and 5.

The 2021 World Series will get started up in Minute Maid Park on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 7:09 p.m. CT.
