The Georgia Bulldogs found a way to end their championship drought and the college football world is celebrating along with them.

For the first time in over four decades, the Georgia Bulldogs are back on top of the college football world. Kirby Smart and his Bulldogs team finally broke through and beat the Alabama Crimson Tide to claim the national championship.

The win was huge for several reasons. It’s not often that someone beats Nick Saban and it’s even rarer that one of his former assistants is able to do just that. Of course, the context here is important. Smart was able to beat Saban on this stage, ending Alabama’s winning streak over Georgia and avenging some significant losses.

And now, college football media members are reacting to that impressive victory.

This win was huge for Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett, who was largely overlooked as a walk-on. Everyone likes an underdog story, even media members.

This win is monumental for Georgia. Alabama wins a championship pretty much every other year with Nick Saban. The Bulldogs have been waiting a long time for something like this.

Of course, Alabama will almost certainly be back in this game in the near future. They’re too good not to be in consideration again next season. But, maybe Smart and his Bulldogs will be able to reload too.
