Former Falcons star Brian Finneran went after Calvin Ridley for his gambling suspension, winning a preexisting Twitter feud between the two.

Calvin Ridley’s suspension for betting on football games rocked the NFL on Monday.

Opinions on the wide receiver’s gambling spread far and wide but no one had a better time with it than former Falcons wide receiver Brian Finneran.

Finneran spent nearly a decade in Atlanta and took it to Ridley on Twitter for his misstep.

“🏈 is life !!! Especially if you are gambling on it !! @CalvinRidley1 holy shitbird man!! You are something else!! ✌️” Finneran tweeted.

There’s some important context to view that tweet in because it wasn’t a one-off.

Brian Finneran and Calvin Ridley had a prior Twitter feud

Just a few days ago, Finneran and Ridley had a dust-up on Twitter.

It all started when Ridley tweeted “🏈 is life” on Mar. 4 and Finneran responded with a GIF asking “Is it though?”

Finneran and others have questioned Ridley’s commitment to the game and Atlanta after he stepped away from the team this past fall citing mental health concerns.

Ridley replied, “I don’t know you at all.”

That didn’t sit well with some Falcons fans since Finneran gave Atlanta nine years of service from 2000 to 2009, playing 126 games for the franchise and receiving the Falcons Man of the Year Award in 2009.

Finneran go the last laugh when the news of Ridley’s year-long suspension broke on Monday.

Ridley was popped for betting on games during his leave of absence from Atlanta in November. He placed parlays involving the Falcons, though he reportedly never bet on his team to lose.
