Omos is scheduled to have a match at WrestleMania 38, and his planned opponent is set to be a surprising one.

WrestleMania 38 is exactly one week away, and the match card appears to be set. But, one match that has yet to be announced is an expected singles match for the 7-foot-3 Omos. But who will be his opponent?

Fightful Select (subscription required) reported earlier this past week that Omos’ opponent for WrestleMania was scheduled to be former multi-time WWE champion Bobby Lashley, who has been out due to injury, but there was no confirmation that he had been cleared.

In an update on Saturday, March 26, Fightful Select was told that Omos vs. Lashley is still the plan, with Lashley slated to be in Pittsburgh, Penn. for Monday Night Raw on March 28.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported earlier in the day that Lashley was scheduled to appear on the episode of Raw in Pittsburgh.

WWE rumors: Omos could face returning Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 38

Lashley has been sidelined since the Elimination Chamber premium live event on Feb. 19, where he was taken out of the main event mid-match. The reasoning provided on television was he was placed in “concussion protocol.”

After the show went off the air, former WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide revealed during “The Ringer Wrestling Podcast” that Lashley had been dealing with a shoulder injury that occurred during his WWE Championship match with Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble on Jan. 29. Additionally, Famuyide said that he heard Lashley would need shoulder surgery and could be out for at least four months.

Omos has been on a tear since the start of the 2022 year. He has defeated AJ Styles, Reggie, T-Bar, Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez, all happening in less than five minutes each. On the March 21 episode of Raw, Omos defeated Crews and Azeez in a handicap match.

When it comes to WrestleMania, Omos has a perfect 1-0 record. At WrestleMania 37 last year, he and Styles defeated The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) to win the Raw Tag Team championships.

The upcoming episode of Raw will be worth monitoring to see if Omos versus Lashley is made official for WrestleMania 38.
