Entering the tournament as the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region, they made it all the way to the national championship game. They got past Texas Southern, Creighton, Providence, Miami (FL) and Villanova to reach the national final.

Things look pretty grim for the Jayhawks entering halftime as they trailed the Tar Heels, 40-25. Yet, they bounced back in the second half to have the historic comeback.

David McCormack tied with Jalen Wilson for a team-high 15 points on the night. However, McCormack secured a double-double by grabbing 10 rebounds.
