Tiger Woods’ day is done at The Masters. While Woods didn’t come near the top of the leaderboard in 2022, merely competing is an accomplishment in itself.

Tiger finished his day +6 for the day, and +13 for the tournament. While he started The Masters with high expectations, stating specifically he wouldn’t play if he didn’t think he would win, eventually reality set in.

However, in that, Woods was thankful he was able to play a full four rounds of professional golf again given where he’s been, and the fact that just over a year ago he nearly died in a car accident.

“It was an unbelievable feeling, just the patrons and the support out there,” Woods said after his day. “I wasn’t exactly playing my best out there, but just to have the support out there and the appreciation … I don’t think words can really describe that, given where I was a little over a year ago and what my prospects were at that time.”

“To end up here and being able to play all four rounds, even a month ago I didn’t know if I could pull this off. But I think it was a positive, and I’ve got some work to do and looking forward to it,” Woods continued.

It’s a monumental accomplishment for Tiger, and one he’ll ride into future majors, he hopes. While he doesn’t think he’ll play a full tour schedule again, he plans to play the British Open in St. Andrews, at the very least.

In the end, golf fans are just happy to have Tiger back in the fold. There’s plenty of work left to be done.
