USC adding Jordan Addison makes Lincoln Riley’s Trojans legit playoff contender

With a May 1 transfer portal deadline looming, Pitt receiver Jordan Addison is considering a transfer to USC who has been a big beneficiary of the transfer portal this offseason.

Despite the fact that the Pitt Panthers managed to replace Kenny Pickett with Kedon Slovis, a former member of the USC Trojans, it appears as if Addison may not be all that interested in sticking around with the Panthers.

According to The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman, Addison is potentially interested in leaving Pitt for Lincoln Riley and USC.

Given that Addison won the Biletnikoff Award and was a star in a thrilling offense, the Trojans could absolutely have a better shot at winning more games this coming season if this transfer takes place.

The 6-foot, 175-pound Addison had 100 receptions for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns last year with the Panthers.

Alone, Addison doesn’t exactly elevate the Trojans into a true College Football Playoff contender. That said, having Addison on a roster that already features Caleb Williams (an electrifying quarterback who transferred to USC from Oklahoma not long after Riley was hired by the Trojans) and there’s a very real chance this offense could be one of the best in the nation

There’s already reason to believe that USC’s offense will be a ton of fun this coming season and it didn’t hurt that the Trojans were able to add guys like Mario Williams from Oklahoma and Brenden Rice from Colorado.

Still, neither of those guys is anywhere near as proven as Addison who won the award as the nation’s most outstanding receiver.

If USC can add Addison to the roster, it greatly increases their chances of making the College Football Playoff for the first time.
