Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes was making some incredible throws in the team’s preseason game against the Washington Commanders.

Week 2 of the NFL preseason continued on Saturday, Aug. 20 with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Washington Commanders. As is the case for every fanbase, they wonder if the starters will play for a brief period of time. For the Chiefs, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes did see some playing time, and he used it to flex on the Commanders.

At one point in his limited time on the field, Mahomes rolled to the outside turned his body around and unleashed an incredible sidearm throw to wide receiver Justin Watson for the first down.

Patrick Mahomes’ incredible sidearm throw vs. Commanders

A simply incredible throw from the former 2018 NFL MVP.

Mahomes played a total of two drives against Washington, 12 plays each, and they both ended with the quarterback throwing touchdown passes to tight end Jody Fortson. Overall, Mahomes completed 12-of-19 pass attempts for 162 yards.

It may be the preseason, but Mahomes look as good as ever. The 2022 season is an important one for Mahomes and the Chiefs. The offense will look a lot different than in year’s past. The passing attack will look different with Tyreek Hill and Byron Pringle gone. Now, joining Travis Kelce and Mecole Hardman are JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Skyy Moore.

Besides the passing offense, the AFC as a whole got a lot tougher on paper. Not to mention that stars like Russell Wilson, Davante Adams, and Khalil Mack have joined the Chiefs’ foes in the AFC West.

But if the past couple of years have taught NFL fans anything, it’s to never count out Mahomes and the Chiefs.
