Cam Ward does his best Patrick Mahomes impression with insane throw

Washington State quarterback Cameron Ward made an incredible, improvised throw against the Oregon Ducks in Week 4.

The 2022 college football season is four weeks in, and there have been plenty of plays that have stood at as some of the best. When it comes to throws, there should be consideration given to Washington State Cougars quarterback Cameron Ward.

With the Cougars leading in the fourth quarter, Ward avoided defensive pressure in the pocket, but he lost his balance. As he was falling to the turf, Ward threw a pass to running back Nakia Watson, who took it for a gain of 25 yards.

The presence of mind for Ward to notice Watson open and throw him the ball while falling to the turf. Truly incredible.

On that drive, Ward extended their lead to 34-22 on a one-yard touchdown pass to Robert Ferrel.

Seemingly close to pulling off the upset, things went south for Washington State. Oregon scored touchdowns on the next two drives on touchdown passes from quarterback Bo Nix to take a 37-34. Getting the ball back, Ward had the chance to retake the lead with under two minutes remaining in regulation. Sadly, Ward threw a pick six that gave Oregon a 44-34 lead.

Oregon won the game 44-41.

Ward finished the game completing 37-of-48 pass attempts for 375 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Despite the loss, Ward caught the attention of the viewing audience with this creative pass.
