Oregon linebacker D.J. Johnson threw a punch at an Oregon State fan after the Beavers defeated the Ducks 38-34.

The Oregon Ducks didn’t have the greatest end to their regular season. With a Pac-12 Championship Game berth on the line, a Ducks victory over the Oregon State Beavers would have helped them with that goal. Instead, the Ducks blew a 34-17 lead and lost 38-34, giving bragging rights to the Beavers.

After the game, Oregon linebacker D.J. Johnson appeared to throw a punch at an Oregon State fan, who appeared to say something to him as he was walking on the field. As the fan’s back was turned, Johnson appeared to take a swing.

Johnson was guided off the football field by two individuals wearing Ducks apparel.

Johnson is a senior for the Ducks. In his career entering Saturday afternoon, the linebacker recorded 61 combined tackles (30 solo), nine sacks, 8.5 tackles for loss, two defended passes, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

As mentioned earlier, the Ducks seemingly had a victory in their grasps. Instead, they scored touchdowns on three consecutive drives in the fourth quarter. Isaiah Newell score on a 15-yard touchdown, followed by a one-yard run by Ben Gulbranson to cut the Beavers’ deficit to 34-31. Newell then ran for a six-yard touchdown with over eight minutes remaining to give the Beavers the 38-34 lead.

In the loss, Johnson recorded three combined tackles (two solo) and one quarterback hurry.
