Week 17 featured an all-important game for the Green Bay Packers as they hosted one of their NFC North rivals, Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings.

The game did not start favorably for the Vikings, who were hoping to keep pace in the NFC Playoff Picture as the No. 2 seed.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins threw two interceptions, one which was returned for a touchdown by Darnell Savage. The Packers also scored on special teams, courtesy of a Keisean Nixon kickoff return he took to the house.

But to add even more insult to injury, it was a rough start for Jefferson, who appeared to have hit a referee with his helmet after this play.

Vikings: Justin Jefferson wasn’t punished for accidental contact with official

Up until the play in question, Jefferson had caught zero passes in the game on just three targets. To add to the frustration, Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander was feeling himself based on the performance he had to that point against Jefferson.

Alexander even hit a “griddy” after disallowing a pass to the star wideout earlier in the game.

The Vikings would go on to see their kicker, Greg Joseph, miss a field goal right before halftime to continue to string of bad luck. Green Bay, on the other hand, snuck in a field goal before the intermission to only further Vikings fans’ pain.

On an afternoon where they were watching the San Francisco 49ers lose to the Las Vegas Raiders, and the Philadelphia Eagles already losing to the New Orleans Saints, this was a game the Vikings needed to come out swinging.

Instead, the only thing swinging was the helmet of Justin Jefferson, and right into the back of an official. Now Packers fans have something else to laugh about.
