The San Francisco 49ers’ electric offense and dominant defense helped them overcome quarterback injuries to make the playoffs. Here’s who they’ll play and when, updated.

The San Francisco 49ers have had quite the season, where they had to start multiple quarterbacks due to injury. Trey Lance, their 2021 third-overall pick, suffered a fractured ankle in Week 2. Jimmy Garoppolo, who led the team to seven wins in 10 starts, broke his foot in Week 13. That left the 49ers with Brock Purdy, the very last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, as their starter. Sure enough, Purdy has played well enough to help lead the teams to wins and a playoff berth.

San Francisco found success in part due to their various weapons on offense, including tight end George Kittle, running back Christian McCaffrey, and wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk.

As for the defense, they have the perennial Defensive Player of the Year favorite in defensive end Nick Bosa. Not to mention they have cornerback Charvarius Ward and linebackers Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw.

Entering the playoffs, San Francisco can be considered one of the favorites in the NFC to make the Super Bowl. They begin their quest to the big game, where they will take on the rival Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card Round.

Let’s take a look at their playoff schedule.

What seed are the San Francisco 49ers?

The 49ers hold the No. 2 seed in the NFC. With this, they will face the No. 7 seed in the NFC, the Seattle Seahawks.

San Francisco actually had a chance to secure the No. 1 seed in Week 18, but that was all for naught after the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New York Giants by the score of 22-16. Had the Eagles lost, the 49ers would have clinched the No. 1 seed since they defeated the Arizona Cardinals 38-13.
