Bellator 290: Ryan Bader vs. Fedor Emelianenko weigh-in results.

Bellator returns with a big splash with their main card airing on CBS Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, live from the Kia Forum, Los Angeles, CA. The main event features reigning heavyweight champion Ryan Bader against MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko. Win or lose this fight is Emelianeko’s swan song, and Bader is coming off two lackluster performances. With that backdrop, I believe Emelianenko will open up and take chances early with big kicks and strikes, leading to an early stoppage for either fighter.

In the co-main event, middleweight champion Johnny Eblen defends his strap against Team Fedor product Anatoly Tokov. A true co-main, considering where these fighters are at this stage of their careers. Eblen is undefeated and coming off a dominating win over Gegard Mousasi. Eblen is a very active striker with excellent wrestling chops. Tokov is a prized prospect in Fedor’s camp with a legitimate shot to win this fight. Hard to say just how good he is after winning his two contests after his re-entry to Bellator against lesser competition.

Regarding the CBS opener, be in your seat on time for Sabah Homasi vs. Brennan Ward. This matchup is a banger and should get people’s attention quickly.

The preliminary card is worth the watch, with some great matchups.
