The NBA Draft is fast approaching which means teams are trying to figure out last minute scenarios that could end up happening on the big night. One of those teams is the Phoenix Suns and one of those scenarios sees them trading Marcin Gortat to someone who wants him should a big man prospect fall to the No. 5 slot.

According to the Arizona Republic, one of those teams with interest in Gortat is the Portland Trailblazers who hold the 10th overall pick in the draft.

"A big-man acquisition could spur trade talk involving center Marcin Gortat, particularly with the Suns being open to the idea of landing another first-round pick. Portland, which holds the No. 10 pick, has held an interest in Gortat and a draft slot like that could be used on a big man like Indiana’s athletically and fundamentally solid Cody Zeller or Pittsburgh’s raw-but-rising Steven Adams."

The Blazers seem to be a team ready to win now and aren’t totally interested in adding another young player to their roster when they looked like they had enough to win last season. They fell short of the playoffs but the stellar season had by Damian Lillard has many people excited and the prospect of adding Gortat, a proven veteran, is something that apparently is appealing to Portland.

A lot can happen between now and the draft and it could be that all the top big men prospects will be taken before the Blazers pick at No. 5 overall. But anything can happen and it looks like we’re in for an active draft trade market on Thursday.
