The Seattle Seahawks defeated the San Francisco 49ers to advance to the Super Bowl. Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman broke up a pass intended for 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree in the final seconds to seal the win, and then they got into a bit of a confrontation.
That led to Sherman going on a rant while Erin Andrews was interviewing him after the game and it almost melted the internet. Here is how Twitter responded.
How about we start off with some famous people.
Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander:
So Russell is a class act! Sherman on the other hand.... If he played baseball would get a high and tight fastball.

Colts long snapper Matt Overton:
FOX’s Jeremy Rauch:
Erin Andrews was scared for her life. My goodness.

WWE superstar CM Punk gives his critique:
Guys. It wasn't a good promo. You don't need to scream. Plus he didn't even say "let me tell you something", "here's the thing", or "brother"

There were those who said shut him up if you can.
Easiest way to shut up Richard Sherman is to outplay him. Simple as that.

I appreciate Richard Sherman's honesty. Everyone complaining can have all the cliches these guys try to give you. I'll take THAT instead.

The classless debate:
assuming everyone calling Richard Sherman "classless" is drinking tea in a top hat right now
— Lana Berry (@Lana) January 20, 2014
If you're angry with Richard Sherman, classless is a much better description than thug. He's not a thug. Look it... http://t.co/ClPlWRemT6

I really wish this would’ve happened….
I don’t think Sherman would say this ever, but it’d be crazy if he did.
The racial argument:
LOL RT @Airdemon2100: How can you be a black man and accept the way Sherman acted? Right on the eve of MLK day he makes what he did null.
