Last week the Los Angeles Lakers made a series of roster moves leading some to suggest that they were no longer interested in signing free agent forward, Michael Beasley.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

A few weeks back, the Lakers had worked Beasley out and appeared to have interest in signing him. However, the two parted ways and no deal was struck. However, Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders suggests that not only are the Los Angeles Lakers still interested in signing Beasley, it goes both ways and the former Kansas State product is intrigued as well.

Of course there’s the concern over money and playing time which could get in the way of a deal, though the two seemingly have mutual interest.

Even with the most recent additions to the Lakers roster, there aren’t many more favorable situations for Michael Beasley than in Southern California. There has been alleged interest from the Miami Heat, Beasley’s former team who would also be a solid landing spot considering he’s seeking playing time, though they don’t have much money available.

Playing alongside Kobe Bryant makes any player better and the bright lights of Hollywood would certainly be of appeasement for Beasley, so it’s a little shocking that he is still looking for another deal considering the Lakers interest.

Michael Beasley has of course never lived up to the hype of his draft stock and has at times irritated teammates with his lackadaisical play, though there’s no doubt that he can put the ball in the basket.

Given the lack of assets currently on the free agent market, a team could certainly do worse.
