The Clemson Tigers have been to be steaming over their 23-17 overtime loss to the top-ranked Florida State Seminoles last week.

The Tigers couldn’t connect on an early touchdown pass, missed two field goals and fumbled in the final minutes in a tie game as they were attempting to go in for what almost surely would have been the game-winning score.

In one of the biggest moments of the game, the Tigers faced second-and-goal at the one-yard line. Center Ryan Norton snapped the ball over quarterback Deshaun Watson’s head resulting in a 23-yard loss. The Tigers were stopped on third down and missed a field goal.

On Tuesday, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney revealed that Norton has been getting threats from Clemson fans over twitter.

“Coach [Chad] Morris told me [about the threats] last night,” Swinney told reporters. “That’s disappointing. I think he deleted his account. It’s a shame that young people have to deal with that kind of stuff. Nobody wants to make a bad snap.

“I think most of it was people mad and venting, but it was threatening to Ryan is what I was told. Those aren’t fans — those are people with issues.”

This is clearly completely uncalled for but unfortunately this sort of thing happens all of the time.
